Stirring You Up By Way of Reminder

2 Peter 1:12-15 Much like today, Peter’s audience of believers were expert forgetters, distracted by the events of life to a point of losing track of the qualities that we are to pursue. Pastor Rod Bunton shows us that this behavior was not new, as even Old Testament witnesses to mighty miracles were quick to forget; but the Lord provided reminders to them then and to us today.

Pursuing Holiness, Part 2

2 Peter 1:5-11 Peter lists qualities that we should pursue on our journey to holiness. Pastor Rod Bunton concludes his teaching from this passage, reviewing each of the qualities that lead to an effective and fruitful life, full of confidence in our spiritual condition.

Pursuing Holiness, Part 1

2 Peter 1:3-5 Peter explains that, through our salvation, God provides all that we need to pursue holiness. Pastor Rod Bunton begins a passage that describes those Christian qualities that we should make every effort to pursue in order to have an effective and fruitful life.

Prepared for Sanctification, Part 2

2 Peter 1:3-4 Pastor Rod Bunton continues to explore this passage, showing how God provides all that we need to change our life: making the gospel attractive, allowing us to know the truth of the savior, to grow more like His divine nature, and to shield us from our own sinful desires.

Prepared for Sanctification

2 Peter 1:3-4 Peter assures his readers that after our justification by God, we can experience the process of sanctification knowing that we are supplied with everything we need. Pastor Rod Bunton looks at that amazing promise and compares it to many ways where we try to provide our own solutions to become sanctified.

Greetings from Peter, Servant and Apostle

2 Peter 1:1-2 Although not directly connected to his first, Peter’s second epistle addresses the same audience: those scattered and suffering from persecution. Pastor Rod Bunton begins this new series by examining Peter’s very appropriate and instructive greeting.

The True Grace of God

1 Peter 5:12-14 Peter closes his first epistle with greetings and an exhortation regarding the truthfulness of his message. Pastor Rod Bunton concludes this series with a review of the truths of the grace of God contained in 1 Peter and in other scriptures.

To Him Be the Dominion

1 Peter 5:8-11 The Lord our God has dominion over all things in this world and the universe; Satan does not. Pastor Rod Bunton uses this passage from the end of Peter’s first epistle to describe what Satan is, what he is not, and how we should use this knowledge.

Grace to the Humble

1 Peter 5:5-7 Peter exhorts his readers to humble themselves to church leadership and to God because it has some important consequences. Pastor Rod Bunton covers the three imperatives given in this passage regarding submission and humility.

Shepherd the Flock of God

1 Peter 5:1-4 In this final chapter of his first epistle, Peter addresses the leadership of the church. Pastor Rod Bunton surveys the Bible on the topic of leadership to help us understand what God’s word says about the proper approach.
